Pets are very rewarding, and they make a great addition to the family. They can teach us a lot, including responsibility (especially for children) as they rely on us to care for them everyday. Choosing a pet can be quite a difficult decision. There are so many to choose from! People often go into a pet shop, then pick the one they like the look of most. This is clearly a mistake, and it is very important to do lots of research before you decide which animal to get. Factors such as time, expense, maintenance and other personal preferences all play a role in deciding which pet suits you best. On this page you will be asked a series of questions which will show you which pet is best suited to your lifestyle. If you decide that at this moment in time you are not ready to take on the responsibility of a pet, maybe come back another time when you are ready for pet ownership. Remember that these questions are based on guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils and hamsters. Although there are many other pets, I have not yet experienced ownership so it would be unfair to include them at this time. If a pet is suggested at the end of the questions, feel free to click on that and it will take you to some resources so you can learn more about them. Do not hesitate to contact me if in doubt, I will be happy to help! If you decide on a pet which suits you, be sure to look in local rescue centres, or even websites such as Preloved, Pets4Homes, Gumtree etc as it's very likely that there are many which need homes. It is great to adopt animals, it really makes a big difference!

*please note: this quiz is designed for deciding between guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters & gerbils*

In future there will be an update version with other small animals.
