Vegetables are a really important part of a guinea pigs diet, so should be given on a daily basis.

Guinea pigs with increased energy demand may be fed more cruciferous and root vegetables.

Always introduce new vegetables slowly to ensure that your guinea pigs tolerate it well.

For guinea pigs new to vegetables, start with carrots & fennel as they are easily digested.

Do not feed gassy, cruciferous vegetables alongside commercial pellets because that causes bloating.

Some vegetables are high in oxalic acid which can cause renal problems in excess.

During the warm season you can feed more fluid rich vegetables for hydration.
